Anna Sevastyanova, 33

Diagnosis: cystic fibrosis, combined form, severe acute flow, recurrent relapses

I was born on May 11, 1983 in town Aleksandrov Vladimir Oblast.

From my childhood I often had coughing and fever. When I was 14 the doctors in Vladimir suspected that my diagnosis was cystic fibrosis. I was sent for the examination to Moscow. The doctors of Russian Children’s Clinical Hospital (RDKB) confirmed the diagnosis. Since that time I was several times hospitalized to RDKB, and when I was 18 I became a patient of the hospital for adults. Since that time I was a patient of Research Institute of Pulmonology that works as a part of Hospital No 57. I live in Aleksandrov with my husband and daughter. My daughter is 8. I studied at Russian Open Transport Academy (RGOTUPS) and graduated with a qualification an accountant. But I’ve never worked as an accountant – immediately after my study at the Academy I’ve born a child and stayed at home. Now I am still a housewife.

I have a document proving that I have disability – I am a person disabled since childhood, 2 group. When I have a relapse of my disease, I have fever, my cough becomes severe, I have problems with breathing. In such cases I need urgent antibacterial therapy with Meronem. Unfortunately, the state never provide this medication free for the patients with cystic fibrosis. Other medications don’t help. Usually I need to take a course of treatment with Meronem once in 9 months.

Two months ago I had another relapse and I needed the medication as soon as possible. I want to express my endless gratitude to St. Luke Foundation for the assistance in the purchase of the expensive medication Meronem! Thank you so much that you didn’t just pass by but answered my request!

Due to the timely help the relapse had no severe consequences! I wish you every success in your hard but noble work!
